Duathlon Format – Push Beyond the Limits
- Run1: (5 KM) – 1 Lap
- Bike: (30 KM) – 2 Lap
- Run2: (5 KM) – 1 Lap
You’ll conquer urban roads at Purbachal, each stride and pedal pushing you beyond the ordinary. This is not about being perfect—it’s about being present, powerful, and unapologetically bold. 1. Race Distances
- Run 1: 5 KM
- Bike: 30 KM
- Run 2: 5 KM
- Identification Requirements
- Bib Number: Visible on front during runs, back during cycling. Use of a race belt is highly recommended.
- Bike & Helmet Stickers: Must be visibly attached to the bike’s seat post and helmet’s front & side.
- Wristband: Provided ID wristband must be worn at all times.
🚴 3. Non-Drafting Rule (Bike Segment)
- Draft Zone: Maintain a 12-meter gap (approx. 5 bike lengths).
- Overtaking: Must be completed within 25 seconds.
- Drop Back Rule: If overtaken, immediately drop out of the draft zone.
- Penalties: Failure to comply results in stop-and-go penalty or disqualification.
🚴♂️ 4. Bike Segment Rules
- Helmet: Mandatory. Must be fastened before un-racking and remain on until re-racking.
- Mount/Dismount: Only at marked lines. No cycling in transition zone.
- Bike Check: All bikes must be roadworthy. Inspection at check-in.
- Allowed Bikes: Road, MTB, Triathlon, TT bikes.
- Not Allowed: Fixed-gear, electric, fat, folding bikes
- Self-Support: No external mechanical aid; participants must handle their own repairs.
- No Headphones/Earbuds during this segment.
- Follow Course: Deviating from marked route is not allowed.
5. Run Segment Rules
- Marked Course: Must be followed at all times.
- No Outside Pacing: No help from non-participants or spectators.
- Transition Area (T1 & T2) Rules
- Place all gear at your designated numbered spot.
- T1: Helmet ON before un-racking bike.
- T2: Helmet OFF only after re-racking the bike.
- Keep the area tidy—no trash or gear outside assigned space.
- Cut-Off Time
- Total time limit: 3.5 hours from wave start. It includes the segment based time & also the transition area time.
- Participants exceeding the cut-off will be asked to retire.
8. General Conduct
- Display sportsmanship, courtesy, and respect.
- Obey all instructions from race officials.
- No littering—use bins provided.
- If withdrawing, inform the nearest official immediately.
